Maintenance
Before washing hammam towels for the first time, tighten all the fringe knots extra well to prevent them from coming loose during washing.
If possible, soak the hammam towel in COLD water for approximately 12 hours before first use. This is not necessary, but it improves the strength of the fibers as well as the moisture absorption. It also reduces shrinkage. Afterwards, wash the hammam towel at 40 degrees.
Wash colored hammam towels separately or with similar colors for the first few washes. The hammam towel can be washed at 60 degrees and can be tumble dried.
The use of fabric softener can reduce the hammam towel's ability to absorb moisture. Therefore, limit the use of fabric softener or do not use it at all. Ironing reduces moisture absorption. For this reason, we advise against ironing hammam towels, unless they are not being used as towels.
